LG-016 Fitover Laser Safety Glasses for 785–830 nm Protection

Laser systems operating between 785 nm and 830 nm are widely used across medical, cosmetic, laboratory and industrial settings. Eye protection for these near-infrared wavelengths requires specialised eyewear that provides verified optical density (OD) and certified resistance according to international standards. The LG-016 Fitover Laser Safety Glasses are designed for this purpose and offer coverage across the 785–830 nm range, with additional UV protection.

Wavelength Coverage and Optical Density

The LG-016 eyewear provides protection across several key wavelength bands, all clearly labelled on the lenses:

  • 800–818 nm – OD 6+

  • 785–830 nm – OD 5+

  • 180–390 nm (UV band) – OD 5+

Optical density values represent the level of attenuation provided. An OD 6+ rating corresponds to a reduction factor of one million, while OD 5+ corresponds to a factor of one hundred thousand. These OD levels align with requirements for many high-power diode, aesthetic, and NIR laboratory lasers.

CE-EN207 L-Ratings

The CE-EN207 ratings indicate resistance to specific exposure types and pulse conditions. For the LG-016:

  • 180–315 nm: D L6 + R L4

  • >315–390 nm: D L4 + R L6

  • 785–830 nm: D L4 + I L5

  • 800–818 nm: D L5 + I L6

These ratings ensure the eyewear has been tested for both continuous-wave and pulsed laser exposure scenarios.

High-Visibility Lens Design

With a visible light transmission (VLT) of 61%, the lenses provide high visibility while still delivering the required attenuation. This makes them suitable for procedures or environments where continuous visual assessment is necessary.

Fitover Style and Adjustability

The LG-016 is a fitover design, meaning it can be worn comfortably over most prescription glasses. The eyewear includes:

  • Adjustable arms

  • Adjustable head strap

  • Lightweight frame

  • Wide field of view

These features support both comfort and usability during extended procedures.

Standards Compliance

The eyewear complies with major international laser safety standards:

  • AS/NZS 1336:2014

  • AS/NZS IEC 60825.14:2014

  • FDA (US)

  • EN207/208 (Europe)

The frame is covered by a 24-month warranty and each pair is supplied with a head strap and protective accessories.
