Nd:YAG lasers are widely used across dermatology, tattoo removal, research laboratories, manufacturing, and laser surgery. Optical Density Requirements for Nd:YAG Systems

Nd:YAG lasers can operate in multiple modes, including Q-switched, long-pulse and continuous wave. The LG-003 eyewear delivers OD 7+ protection at the most clinically relevant wavelengths:

  • OD 7+ at 1064 nm

  • OD 7+ from 190–532 nm

    • OD 6+ from 925–1070 nm

    • OD 5+ from 850–925 nm

An OD 7 level represents attenuation of ten million times (10,000,000×), providing protection suitable for high-energy Nd:YAG systems. These values directly align with professional safety requirements in medical, aesthetic, industrial, and research fields.

CE-L Rated Testing

Beyond optical density numbers, EN207 L-ratings verify that the eyewear is tested to withstand direct laser exposure, not just filtered light. The LG-003 glasses demonstrate several high rating categories, including:
