To work out the correct laser safety glasses the most important specifications are the wavelength and power.
If you don't know your laser specifications then they can be found in the followingways:
- Firstly check the operations manual under the Specifications section. The laser wavelength will be specified in nm (nanometers) and the power in milli-Watts (mW), Watts (W) or Kilowatts (kW)
- If it cannot be found in the manual then laser safety standards require that there is a warning label on the laser equipment near the laser output that specifies the laser wavelength and power or class.
- If neither of these work then by searching for the model and make of the laser online along with the term "wavelength" then you should be able to find the required specifications.
If you are uncertain in any way it is best to contact the laser supplier or manufacturer to find out the information or feel free to contact one of our our laser safety experts.
