Selecting Holmium 2100 nm laser safety glasses

There are several things to consider when choosing laser safety glasses for Holmium lasers. The two main options are either polycarbonate lenses or glass lenses.  Below will outline the pros and cons of each option.

Glass lenses have the advantage of greater clarity and visibility as well as a higher visible light transmission (VLT) of 70-75% providing almost clear visibility. They also have the benefit of being less susceptible to scratches. In addition the glass lenses in Holmium laser safety eyewear tend to cover a broader range of lasers from Holmium, Nd YAG and CO2 as well as telecom laser wavelengths. The main advantage of polycarbonate lenses over the filter glass lenses are they are lighter weight making them more comfortable to be worn for extended periods of time. They also have the advantage of being lower cost than the glass lenses. More information on the polycarbonate lens option LG-090N can be see at the below link.
